What is going on with chess in Canada? by
Rich Hutnik[_2_]
Anyone have any idea what is going on with Chess in Canada?
I happened to find these articles on the Chess Federation of Canada:
http://members5.boardhost.com/ChessTalk/msg/1208372663.html
http://www.chess.ca/Gls/07-08GL7.pdf
Talk of restructuring, and potentially going under, borrowing money
from FIDE in order to stay afloat and make their payments to continue
to be a member?

The President's Daughter by Nan Britton by

It's Not the Power of Speech, Just the Power To Talk by

Truong "responds" to questions from a USCF member. Please note that Mr.
Truong's claims of confidentiality are frivolous.

I think your comments are not specific enough to translate into action.
So could you clarify:

Zebedia has returned and he won the Master Level. by
Sanny
Zebediah returned after 6 month and played with Master Level.
He win the game against Master level in just 34 moves.
Looks like he will again snatch the Crown from Help Bot.
Zebediah is the Top player at GetClub in terms of Tactics.
Chrisf is Second Best player. He too may win the Master Level.

Truong Misses the Point by
Brian Lafferty
From chessdiscussion:

It's good that people are paying attention to it now. It's too bad that
the USCF leadership does not because if they did, they would have asked
for help long ago. Even after getting this kind of horrendous numbers,
no one asked for help.
You know what this reminds me of? I read sometime ago that there were
instances where young...

The Real Reason Joel Channing Resigned by
samsloan
Bill Brock states on the New York Times Gambit Blog, "Mr. Channing had
a vision, and a sense of the concrete steps USCF needed to take". I
would like Mr. Brock to tell us what his vision was and what those
steps were, because I never heard Mr. Channing state those things. In
his nearly three years on the board, Mr. Channing never made a motion
that failed to pass. The board repeatedly deferred to...

So Where's the Meat Mr. Truong? by

From chessdiscussion:

One last point about the USCF Finances - and this one needs to be said.
During the Crossville meeting which I directly observed, Susan and Paul
had very little to say about the subject in the open sessions. Had they
placed an economic development program for the USCF on the table there -
and forced the rest of the Board to go on...

Trollgar again cites "Our Expertise" by
samsloan
Over on chessdiscussion.com Polgar and Truong are again writing about
how the USCF would greatly benefit from their expertise.
Susan Polgar wrote "Instead of allowing Paul and I to use our
expertise to help the USCF". Later Truong chimes in about how the USCF
could announce that Truong will "conduct a seminar on promoting
chess".

Please Analyze this game between Easy Level & Chrisf by
Sanny
Chrisf is 2nd best player at GetClub Chess.
He used to win in just 20-30 Moves earlier.
But now as the GetClub game has been improved he now takes 50-60 Moves
to win the Higher Levels.
In the game below he sacrificed its Rook. and win the game. GetClub
also Sacrificed its Knight but I do not understand whether the
Sacrifice of Knight by Easy Level was correct or not.

Are there rational defenders of Truong? by
jeremy.p.spinrad@vanderbilt.edu
I do not hang out at most other chess discussion forums. On r.g.c,
Truong seems to be defended only by Innes, Rob (though not of late -
could he actually have been convinced by Guy Macon's post explaining
why it is hard to fake IP addresses?), and some nasty anonymice.
Polgar's site seems to carry messages only from people who believe
that everything Susan Polgar says must be true, and anyone...
