Polgar Blows Smoke by B. Lafferty[_2_]
From chessdiscussions: FACTS as I know them so far: 1. No contractor had the authorization to start an investigation using the USCF confidential data. No confidential information was supposed to be used for any other purpose except for the job the contractors were hired for the website. 2. After an unauthorized and illegal investigation was conducted, it was only reported to the ED and the...

Ms. Polgar's Learning Curve by B. Lafferty[_2_]
Polgar writes on chessdiscussion.com: "This is just a point of information about Sloan's lawsuit: Brian Mottershead: "snits is correct that I never found any evidence that there had been any Fake Sam Sloan posts from a Texas Tech IP Address. In his lawsuit, Sam said that there had been posts from a Texas Tech computer, a little bit different than an IP address. When I asked Sam about this, he...

Beyond the doubling cube: How do you make chess for TV as appealing to non-chess players as poker is to non-poker players? by Rich Hutnik
In another thread, I asked about the use of a doubling cube in some format. The basic idea was to break draw issues with chess, but also to create an environment with large stakes, and more metagame issues in order to attempt to make chess more appealing to non-chess players to watch. Anyhow, I want to focus on the general framework question somehow. The question is, how do manage to get chess...

Witness to a Felony by ChessterMolesster@gmail.com
Mottershead, you are a witness to a felony. What if you had found a dead body? Sure, in this case it's only character assassination, but the course of action should be the same. Call the FBI ! There are two offices in Knoxville.

Goichberg Continues to Stall for Time by ChessterMolesster@gmail.com
The Goichmeister sez: Recent events have led to charges and counter-charges about false postings on chess websites that may involve USCF members and improper activity by independent contractors working for the USCF. At this time, it must be stressed that none of these claims can be independently substantiated, and the USCF does not support them. The USCF apologizes for any unintended resulting...

Why only the USCF by Rob
Why is it that in the ENTIRE WORLD of chess politics ONLY problems with the USCF are aired online here to any degree? We don't seen to have problems in the ECF, ICU, SCF CCF or ECU? What makes the USCF so special? There must be something? How are these other organizations different from the USCF? Think hard and honestly and come up with a thoughtful reply. Rob

The I Was Framed Defense by B. Lafferty[_2_]
Truong's framed defense is beginning to wear a bit thin. Recall that when his resume page on AOL was accessed claiming he had a PhD, Truong made the claim that someone faked the page to frame him. Now he claims he's being framed as the fake Sam Sloan by framers unknown.

Is Bill Hall really out sick again or just a lazy bum who doesn't want to work? by samsloan
Is Bill Hall really out sick again or just a lazy bum who doesn't want to work? Turns out that ever since I filed my lawsuit, Bill Hall has been out sick. It seems that every time something important is going on, Bill Hall suddenly gets the flu or something. Remember when we were trying to finalize the plans for the US
