Joel Channing's Threats To Resign by
samsloan
Now, Joel Channing has posted to the USCF Issues Forum a statement
that he resigns effective immediately if the vote to cancel the
"Internet Insurance" passes. The problem with this is that at every
meeting while I was on the board, Channing said that he was
considering resigning. This is clearly part of his bullying tactics,
saying "If you don't do things my way, I am taking my ball and...

Don Schultz defends "Internet Insurance" by
samsloan
Yes the EB approved it but the stakes are now higher - the loss of an
important Board member, who has opportunities in the oven and the fact
that at least one Board member feels that the very existence of the
USCF is at risk because of the potential magnitude of legal
developments. Personally I agree with that assessment. Right or wrong,
Susan's potential marketability is enormous and its...

Rating Scandals... by
J.D. Walker
I am still trying to learn more about this subject. I ran across one
quote that stuck me as pretty remarkable...
"True, I couldn't lose USCF points but who the hell cares about USCF
ratings anyway. There is only one rating that counts: FIDE."
-- Eric Schiller after losing a match to Nicholas Nip
Eric Schiller had a ratings floor in effect for his USCF rating during
this match. After a...

Dear Mr. Presdient
At US law, when two nuclear weapons are about to be denotated over New

done by written or verbal statement.
Am I still an American?
You have to allow me safe passage out of America if you don't like me,

For Susie Chesspiece ( Hanken) by
Brian Lafferty
From chessdiscussion this morning:
by SusanPolgar on Tue Apr 08, 2008 12:21 am
Whatever Mr. Hanken did in this matter is between him, the family which
suffered this tragedy and the state of California. I do not know enough
about it to render judgment.
What matters to me is his current or recent conduct, not what happened 8
years ago.
I have personally witnessed a few incidents involving Mr....

Polgar Moves to Shut Down Forums by
Brian Lafferty
I've been told by three people that Susie Chesspiece has made a motion
to do away with the USCF forums. Will he motion succeed? Will there be
a deal to get Channing to stay if the forums are closed? Does it matter
if the forums are closed given the state of moderation there?
So much for Susie Chesspiece's commitment to free speech, not that she
ever had one.

Sam Sloan's Research "Skills"? by

In another thread, Rev. J.D. Walker said of Sam Sloan:

Sam,
Just for the record, I acknowledge your fierce skills at research.
I'm not sure what "fierce" was supposed to mean in this context, but
regulars of this newsgroup know that applying the word "skill" to
Sam's research is an oxymoron. He is generally quite slipshod.
