Police report on Marcus Roberts by
parrthenon@cs.com
MARCUS ROBERTS SECURITY GUARD
The readers here might be interested to know that when Marcus Roberts
showed up at the USCF Committee meetings in Cherry Hill NJ starting on
August 1, 2007, the USCF hired a private gun-toting security guard to
follow Marcus Roberts around as he went from committee meeting to
committee meeting. Just to make sure, I asked the guard if he had been
hired to follow...

It's quite an act over on the USCF Issue's forum with Bill the ventriloquist
and his dummy John Hillery. Don't miss it. Admission is only $41 for
adults; $25 for young adults.

Truong and Polgar quit the USCF Forums (again) by
samsloan
It will not take long. Notice that he thanked all but one of the
members of the FOC.
The one member of the Forum Oversight Committee that he did not thank
was David Quinn ("Artichoke").
I wonder why he did not thank him.

Getclub Chess beat whitehat with easy level. by
Sanny
Whitehat a strong player was beaten by easy level. However nomorechess
was able to win with easy level.
Play Chess at: http://www.getclub.com/Chess.html
That game had bugs when nomorechess won. Now the bugs have been
removed. I feel It would be a lot difficult to win Easy & Normal
Levels.
Now the GetClub Chess plays in time.

Polgar/Truong rips off USCF Forums design?! by
samsloan
I too find it disturbing that the new Polgar/Truong discussion forum
uses the same software, same colors, same design, same format and even
many of the same postings as the USCF Forums.
Take a look at
http://www.chessdiscussion.com/phpBB3/index.php
However, I do not see how this can be called an ethical violation. Bad
sportsmanship perhaps, but not unethical.

2008 US Championship questions by
samsloan
Good question. Jerry Hanken (and no doubt others) claimed that AF4C
would come back with big bucks and start sponsoring the US
Championship again, provided only that Sam Sloan be defeated for re-
election.
Let's see if that really happens.

Dear ECF,
My name is Rob Mitchell. I am an associate editor for the online chess

effort to contact the most worthy and sportsman like of all chess
playing organizations to take part in a chessic contest of
immeasurable importance. (sounds good anyway, right :-) )
I feel certain that you are familiar with the online e mail chess...

Mitchell throws down the Gauntlet; USCF expected to 'be busy' by
Chess One
Dear USCF Board
I hope your Mexican visit goes well. I hope is that the USCF will see some
improvements now there has been some changes made in leadership at the
board level. SInce you have a keen eye for promotion, I would like to run
this by you:
Look Rob, you have to throw down the gauntlet to these sorts of people. We,
Chessville, home of real opinions of We the Chess People,...

Adios Paul by
OdessaChess[_2_]
From the USCF Issues Forum this morning:
"Andy, both Susan and I were very active here at one point until some people
decided to drop in. She was trying to help because she truly believes in
interacting with chess players of all levels. She has done this long before
this forum. All she requested is for people to be respectful and civil.
Thanks to a few, there goes that. She only asked to...

Not Seen On Polgar/Truong's chessdiscussions.com by
OdessaChess[_2_]
An ethics question. Is there a conflict of interest in two board members
setting up what are essentially competing forums with the USCF and its
forums to which the board members owe a fiduciary duty of loyalty? In fact,
the color and format of the Polgar/Truong forum is strikingly similar to the
USCF forums. Most of the discussion forums on their site parallel the forums
on this site. In as...

Proposal to Post Top-100 lists on the Internet by
samsloan
This is a great idea. I wish I had thought of it. I wish somebody had
thought of it.
However, I am a bit nervous about posting in the Internet the names
and ratings of very young children. For example, should we post a list
of the 100 top rated girls under 8 ? I think we should seek some
advice on this touchy question before going forward.

Gregory Alexander demands an "Official Retraction" by
samsloan
A large number of my postings have been deleted and I have never been
told what was wrong with them other than a vague general statement
that they "violated the AUG".
You are well known for your attacks on other posters. Now, you take
offense at the mild statement "thus far" and you demand an official
retraction.
If they applied the same standard to you as they do to me you would
have been...

Susan Polgar wants "permanent banning" of "trouble makers" by
samsloan
We need a prompt system with as little bureaucracy as possible. Once a
system is in place and the trouble makers are properly sanctioned
including permanent banning, there will be no problem with the forum.
99% of the problems are caused by less than 10 people.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

USCF President Ordered Name of Sam Sloan not to be Published in Chess Life by
samsloan
You seem to be referring to me. It is true that I have published five
chess books, the Troitzky book, the Kasparyan book, the Whitaker book,
the Weaver Adams book and recently the Benko book and none of them are
being sold by USCF Sales. Plus I have a book on Chinese chess, which
is by far my most popular book.
However, I would be happy to have USCF Sales carry my books.
The USCF President...

Bill Hall plans to disable the FOC by
samsloan
The shocking news from the new BINFOS is that Bill Hall plans to
eliminate most of the powers of the Forum Oversight Committee or FOC
and Susan Polgar wants to ban entirely about ten miscreants who are
known to criticize her.
Presently, there are three moderators to the forum but only two are
active after one killed himself and the two active forum moderators
were selected because they are the...
