USCF Org. by Chess One
I just posted this message into a Paul Truong thread at USCF's forums - which exists like other threads there to discuss board-aspirants. Phil Innes ------------- I should like to make a personal statement at odds with some others here. (1) The first comment is to address that 'everybody knows Mr. Truong is difficult to work with', and I should like 'everybody' to know that I am at least one...

howard stern's birthday present (almost) by terrapin
my non-chess playing friend told me about this: Gary then came into the studio and reported that people from SIRIUS approached him yesterday about getting Howard "a big surprise" for his birthday and the anniversary, even though they were a day or two away. Gary added that he advised the execs to get Howard a chess lesson with Boris Spassky, a Russian considered one of the best chess players in...

What does the USCF's "Internet Insurance" cover by samsloan
This is very interesting especially because the insurance the USCF paid $15,000 for was not supposed to be for any of these things. Our "Internet insurance" which was the subject of a vote on August 14, 2006 was supposed to protect us from lawsuits arising from "moderation". Suppose just in a purely hypothetical case somebody says that Candidate X is a member of Mensa and Mr. Y says, "That is a...

I won't sign any code of conducts by samsloan
They're trying to frame me by making all the candidates sign a code of conducts. I won't sign anything. I've never been convicted of any crime. I have the most experience and I'm also the most famous chess player. I deserve 4 more years. Hal Bogner and Leroy Dubeck will campaign for me. Sam Sloan

Joel Channing "Under the Table" by samsloan
I admit that I should not have posted about the "under the table" incident, and I regret doing do. As I was sitting next to Beartiz, I witnessed the incident when it took place. However, after the meeting, Beatriz said that she considered it to be a non-issue, and asked me not to say anything about it. I adhered to her request until today, when Joel Channing started

Mike Goodall has been hospitalized by samsloan
Mike Goodall has been hospitalized One the same day that he was announced as an official candidate for election to the USCF Executive Board, Mike Goodall suffered a heart attack and has been hospitalized. Mike is now in the ICU in Kaiser Hospital in Marin County, California. I just spoke to his nurse who informed me that he has been stabilized. Sam Sloan

Stephen Jones for USCF Executive Board by samsloan
Please note that Stephen Jones is a surprise new candidate for election to the USCF Executive Board. I know very little about him and met him only once, which was at the 1963 US Intercollegiate Championship at Notre Dame University in Indiana. There I remembering him drawing with our team member Donald Dean when Dean was a piece down in a position that looked hopeless. My team, which was the...

Chessdon goes Zero for Zero for Ten! by The Masked Bishop
Chessdon goes zero for zero for 10 on his arguments against TMB's arguments for moving to Paris!! 1) Sam Sloan is thousands of miles away, and won't be able to make all the board meetings. Wrong - Sam consistently shows up at important meetings wherever they are. Didn'tyou see the Rain Man with Dustin Hoffman. Well Sam is our Dustin Hoffman.

Title to USCF land -- breaking news! by parrthenon@cs.com
CROSS-T0-BEAR AND HARRY SABINE An Executive Board member -- and I am authorized to say it is not Sam Sloan -- contacted me to say that there is real question over the title to what is supposedly USCF land in Crossville. This person has asked me to state the following: "I don't want to cross Joel Channing and Bill Goichberg in public, and I don't know whether I will

Paul Truong has edited my biography on Wikipedia by Jah
"samsloan" I had thought that a Wikipedia administrator would delete these obviously objectionable edits by Truong, but that has not happened. Wikipedia is a bull**** organization run like "Boys Town" where the most popular boys get to do whatever the funk they want. Since you are not popular, anyone can screw with you. Get used to it.

2 face Beatriz Marinello is attacking me by samsloan
Sam, Please try not to include me in your postings, unless it's necessary. I think that postings like this one contribute to the polarization of the USCF's leadership; I want not part on it. I asked you not to say anything about the 'under the table situation." You did not respect my wishes, and then apologized for it. I appreciate the apology, but this does not give you a green light to...

Questions about Joel Channing by samsloan
Regarding the "Under the Table" incident at the board meeting in Stamford Connecticut on November 17, 2006, Joel Channing has told a lie when the truth would have served him better. This has caused me to wonder how many other things Joel Channing says about himself are lies. For example, Joel Channing claims that he is a member of Mensa. Somebody has looked him up and says that he is not a...

the real and fake Sam by parrthenon@cs.com
THE REAL AND THE FAKE This seems to be the real Sam Sloan -- This seems to be the fake Sam Sloan -- One way to tell is that the real Sam doesn't use profanity. Let's hope that Marcus Roberts or someone else solves the mystery soon.

I'm very upset at myself by Sam Sloan
The board took a vote about my suspension and I made the wrong vote because I heard the question wrong. It turned out that I was the only one who voted to suspend myself. I'm very ****ed that Nolan is telling everyone about my vote. It's just a dumb mistake. Sam Sloan

Why is Shahade destroying the USCF website? by Francis
The old USCF website has/had some character and unique graphics, proper separations into boxes, multilinked pages, etc. Jennifer is killing all of that, converting it into a bland pale blue and white format without significant graphics, no boxes, no separators, no multilinked pages, all in one long scrolling page. It sucks, like the new Chess Life sucks, same bland and featureless style....
