in the particular case of the ssdf list, there will be two versions of
shredder tested. one is fritz native and the other uses a different
"universal" interface developed by meyer-kahlen, the shredder programmer.
this is the interface in shredder classic. and many others support it
because it allows copy protection.
since both shredder engines are similar, this test examines how much the
fritz interface (or alternatively a UCI one) taxes the processing speed
(read performance) of an engine.
