Default Sloan must prosecute Stalker

"samsloan" I really wish I knew who this is, or
what his
agenda is.

You should file a lawsuit in your local circuit court (after consulting with
legal counsel) and then send subpoenas to the appropriate ISPs to find out
who your stalker is and get a restraining order against him or her.

You may not be able to get punitive damages, but you can certainly get your
attorney's fees, costs, and get the various ISPs to ban this abuser. You
will also be able to finally expose who he is on every forum, and make sure
that he is known and has a court judgment against him entered into his
credit report.

The person who is stalking you non-stop needs to be held accountable for his
psychotic stalking. This has been going on for at least a year, and it is
beyond abnormal. Any judge that reviews the thousands of malicious posts by
the fake sam sloan will probably order a psychological evaluation of your
stalker.

I suggest you find out from an attorney if you can get Discovery by filing
the lawsuit as a Domestic Violence Restraining Order under New York State's
Stalker Laws. If you file the case in the Domestic Violence (or Family
Court) then you can get psychological evaluations ordered.

The better alternative would be to print up all these posts and contact the
District Attorney's Office and find out if the maliciousness rises to the
level that justifies criminal prosecution. If the state files a criminal
case against your stalker then they can also order that he be evaluated for
mental illness as part of his pre-sentencing and/or probation report.

Get real buddy. He would be wasting his time and money and nothing would
come of it. This is the reality of the internet, and usenet in particular.
People will pull pranks and impersonate all the time. There isn't a thing
you can do about it.

Oh really? Do you have a clue how easy it is to be anonymous on the
internet? Do you even know what a proxy server is? Even serious crimes such
as corporate mainframe hacks and virus launches are rarely caught. You think
the FBI is going to subpoena someone's server because of misdemeanor
slander? Probably not, and even if they do it most likely won't lead
anywhere.

It's probably one of the losers with no life who posts here all the time
such as "SBD" or "Help-Bitch", but even a moron like that knows enough to
post anonymously.

Oh really? I'll bet $1000 that I can impersonate, slander, ridicule, etc any
top GM of your choosing, for as long as I want and nothing whatsoever will
come of it, other than alot of whining and crying. We can put $1000 each
into escrow for the wager. Interested?

Another angle is that the posts appear intended to influence the board
elections and possibly some contracts of a non-profit corporation. If
the fake Sloan is someone who could financially benefit from the
results of his/her posts, the issue might go beyond slander of an
individual and be more similar to the stock pump-and-dump schemes that
involve Internet postings. I believe the originators of some of these
*have* been tracked down and prosecuted.

At any rate, given the number of obscene references to people well
known in the chess world, publicly outing the fake Sloan might provide
as much punishment as a financial penalty.

ie, Randy Bauer? You'll recall the incident last year where Bauer got
caught red-handed trying to smear Sam Sloan with that filth he posted about
Susan Polgar.
