Default Secrets of modern Chess strategy by John Watson

Hi people,

Is this a good book for a 1700-1800 rated player?

Regards

Default Secrets of modern Chess strategy by John Watson

Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy is an excellent book. However, it is
not an instructional book. It is a treatise on the development of
chess strategy since Nimzovich. One can of course learn from the ideas
in the book, but if you want instruction then you need to look
elsewhere.

for a 1700-1800 player Instruction:

Improve Your Chess Now by Jonathan Tisdall
Road To Chess Improvement by Yermolinsky
Reassess Your Chess by Silman

Endings: Grandmaster Secrets: Endings by Soltis

Bio or Game Collection: Fire on Board by Shirov
Any of Kasparovs's Analytical works
Personal Favorite is Geller's Collection of
Best Games

Best Think of Watson's Book as a book on the philosophy of chess over
the past 75 years.
