Default computer plays itself

What would prevent the computer from playing the same game each time?

Programs must randomly select moves that it considers are equal. This way
the games change each time (within limits). Many programs will play the same
game if you play then against each other enough times.

This would include different openings. Usually openings are a random pick of
a set book opening, as the computer cannot think far enough ahead to make
good opening moves itself.

Actually early dedicated Chess Challenger computers DID tend to play the
same moves until some randomness was introduced into the programs.

"Gee, I played that exact same game before and lost. Maybe I
shouldn't play it again."
