Default Best of the Chessmaster Series ?

Which version of the Chessmaster series do you like the best and why?
Which version would you recommend for a 1500 player that wants to
improve?

I think that most people would say either CM9000 or CM 10th. The choice
is really in which interface you prefer.

CM 10th has (slightly) more tutorial content, and a few new features
such as pre-constructed tournaments against the computer, but otherwise
is identical in feature set to CM9.

If price is an issue, then CM9 is your best bet, as you might be able
to find it for $15 or less.

where as I would recommend CM 10k

I play CM10 with Daemon Tools running, and a few active virtual drives. It
may collide with other products (not using Alcohol 120%), but it doesn't
clash with all virtual drive technologies.

Fair enough ... but that is a 100% reason for me not to own the product. It
is NOT a good idea to hide this limitation in the ULA or have the user
discover this after they have opened the packaging and installed the software
[when they can't return it].
