Default How to find chess data ?

I want to know the following data:
in a set of say: 1000 games

(a) how many pawns were killed?
(b) how many knights, quenns etc ...


is there any database awailable ???

any help would be appriciated

You, its quite easy to do.

1) Find a collection of games in PGN format (I suggest using a lot more
than 1000 if you statistically significant data), then use 'ChessDB'

http://chessdb.sourceforge.net/

to do the search for you. The "Material Search" will probably do what
you want. Here's a view of the menu where you would search for the
material.

I just did a quick check on my own games and find that all 4 knights are
off the board in about 40% of endings (516 games ended with no knights
out of 1304 games). 4 games ended with neither side having any material
at all.
