Default I need an Excel chess document translated...

I'd like to get a short (44kb) chess-related Excel document translated into
ordinary HTML format, or Microsoft Works format, or plain TEXT - anything I
can read! I couldn't find an online translator offhand. If anyone has Excel
and wants to do it, here's the link to download the document:
http://chess.jaet.org/endings/docs/
It's the last one in that list: "Summary of Ken Thompson's 6-man results"
The reason is that the link to the introductory page of Ken Thompson's
endgame databases at
http://cm.bell-labs.com/chessbroken.html
is broken and I'm not optimistic that it will be fixed. My guess is the
above Excel document contains the same information, but I won't know until I
can read it! FYI apparently only the introductory page is broken. Ken
Thompson's online database itself still appears to work OK. See the
following link for an explanation of the required format:
http://www.lafn.org/~ax810/explain.htm
This is a valuable online resource for the pawnless 6-man endgames.
Downloading the equivalent EGTB's (tablebases) would be roughly on the order
of 100 Gigabytes (just an educated guess), not very practical for most
folks!?

Here's a temporary email address to reach me (please remove the seven's and
x's):
b0uq7uet4a atx maila7ka dxot next
That email address will work for about 10 days before it automatically
self-destructs... )
Thanks.

I converted it to .pdf and emailed it that that address (at least I think I
did!)

Yes, there were 100 lines in the table. Of course, I could easily export it any
number of ways, but it seemed to me that you needed to read the results more
than use them in a machine readable way, so I chose to create a .pdf Let me
know if you need some other format and I will be happy to help.

Regards, Kerry

Thanks a lot! Your .pdf file contains lines 1-100 from the table, which I
presume is all. Here's a quick unformatted text copy below. I'll do the same
in html format in a message immediately below in this thread, but realize
that some people won't like it. (Sorry)

Analysis of data provided by Ken Thompson, 2000
John Tamplin and Guy Haworth, 2001

I converted it to .pdf and emailed it that that address (at least I think I
did!)

I'd like to get a short (44kb) chess-related Excel document translated

into
ordinary HTML format, or Microsoft Works format, or plain TEXT - anything

I
can read! I couldn't find an online translator offhand. If anyone has

Excel
and wants to do it, here's the link to download the document:
http://chess.jaet.org/endings/docs/
It's the last one in that list: "Summary of Ken Thompson's 6-man results"
The reason is that the link to the introductory page of Ken Thompson's
endgame databases at
http://cm.bell-labs.com/chessbroken.html
is broken and I'm not optimistic that it will be fixed. My guess is the
above Excel document contains the same information, but I won't know until

I
can read it! FYI apparently only the introductory page is broken. Ken
Thompson's online database itself still appears to work OK. See the
following link for an explanation of the required format:
http://www.lafn.org/~ax810/explain.htm
This is a valuable online resource for the pawnless 6-man endgames.
Downloading the equivalent EGTB's (tablebases) would be roughly on the

order
of 100 Gigabytes (just an educated guess), not very practical for most
folks!?

Here's a temporary email address to reach me (please remove the seven's

and
x's):
b0uq7uet4a atx maila7ka dxot next
That email address will work for about 10 days before it automatically
self-destructs... )
Thanks.
