Sorry, Brian, but you have no chance of being elected if you are going
to make statements like this.

The LMA Committee does not merely "think" of themselves as a check on
the EB. They are a check on the EB. They are a delegate committee,
appointed by the delegates and answerable to the delegates only. Their
job is to control the LMA funds, not merely to invest them prudently,
and to protect these funds from being grabbed by the office unless a
grave emergency arises.

This is a constant struggle that has been going on for the past 20
years where the Executive Director (not just this one but all of his
predecessors) has been trying to get his hands on the LMA Treasure
Chest and the LMA Committee has been trying to stop him from doing
that.

Now, regarding Tim Redman's authority to make this posting, which
Brian Mottershead is questioning, I am certain that Tim Redman would
not have posted this proposal without circulating it to other members
of the LMA Committee first.

In this particular case, I know for a fact that he did ask the other
members of the LMA Committee about it before he posted it.
