DENVER -- A former chess master from Fort Collins wanted for failing
to register as a sex offender, will be featured on "America's Most
Wanted" this Saturday.

Robert Snyder was arrested in 2005 by police and faced four counts of
sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and two
counts of sexual assault on a child pattern of abuse. The abuses were
alleged to have happened in late 2002 and the summer of 2005 at his
home, where he taught chess to young students.

Snyder pleaded guilty in 2007 to sexual assault on a child and
unlawful sexual contact. Following a 1-year prison term, he was to
register as a sex offender and undergo intensive probation, which was
meant to make sure he was always monitored and had no contact with
children.

Snyder was released on Aug. 24, 2008, but failed to register as a sex
offender or meet with his probation officer and hasn't been seen
since.

Felony warrants were then issued for two counts of failure to register
as a sex offender and for probation revocation for sexual assault on a
child.

Snyder is the author of several chess books published by Random House,
which includes the bestseller "Chess For Juniors," and has written
articles for "Chess Life" and "School Mates" magazines, according to
his Web site.

According to his Web site, which is still operating, Snyder "is a
highly regarded chess educator whose students have won thirty six
individual first place titles in championship sections at the National
Scholastic Championships 10 times. He has introduced chess to more
than 170,000 elementary and junior high school students."

The Web site also said that Snyder taught the game to students such as
actor Will Smith, and the son of actor Nicholas Cage.

The "America's Most Wanted" episode featuring Snyder will air Saturday
on Fox.

What about that pedophile that was going to college in Baltimore and
drove down to Alabama to rape some 13 year old girl? Is he still on
the loose?
