Default Group Replies

We could save us all a lot of time if in replying to any message we
delete the previous message in the reply box. Yes it does take a few
seconds but it makes it so much easier to study a stream of replies.
Otherwise you have to scroll past all the old messages with each
reply. I am suprised google doesn't make this the default. It also
takes oodles less storage space for the group and makes it much more
efficient to archive the group, Carol M

I agree that posters should remove most (usually not all) of a post they are
replying to, leaving only enough to establish the context.

However, there is no "google default". It would be an Internet Explorer (or
other browser) default.

I agree that posters should remove most (usually not all) of a post they are
replying to, leaving only enough to establish the context.

Hmmm...not necessarily Bill. Could depend on the interface.

That said, different news services also maintain messages for different periods
of times. There is something to be said for maintaining enough to a message to
establish context.
