Default Stupid Americans!

Some would call you naive, maybe even foolish for making such sweeping
generalizations about so many Americans.

1 out of 20 rattlesnakes won't bite either. It doesn't make one "foolish",
or "naive" to make a generalization about rattlesnakes. It makes good
practical sense.

I agree, except the generalization made in this case wasn't something
like "most Americans have two hands." That would have made practical
sense!

The generalisation made in this case showed the author's own
simple-mindedness and exemplified the inflated and non-substantive
nature of criticism used by the majority of anti-Bush ralliers in this
saga.

And remember now that there were 56 million Americans who voted the
other way, not counting the silent ones. A Catholic Democrat (never a
liberal) and anti-Bush like me would agree with a Canadian like you
Nonyz.

However, they should recall that "girly-man" governor of CA though, he
can't even play chess.

If you are referring to the "Governator", you are misinformed.

Yes, the governator.

"A machine sent back in time to terminate Gray Davis and become GOVERNER of
CALEEFORNIA" -- Jack Bauer Sep 29, 2003

The governator represents "the cult of celebrity trouncing the democratic
process."

Why, what is the misinformation that you are talking about?

It's fairly obvious he was suggesting that Governator Schwarzenegger knows
how to play chess.
I found this a bit surprising, given that, well, isn't chess a game suited
mainly to girley-men? Real men flail giant swords throught the air, belch,
fart, and say things like "Grrrrr!" or "Rharrrr!" [not "Guarde le Dame!" or
"Le petite combination!"] :-)

Nope, he can't even beat his son, Christopher.

He acted as if he played with Kasparov, but that was a publicity stunt:

Plus, it's the other way around, Barbarians are "girly-men" wielding giant
swords ala Conan. :-)

There have been a few chessbase articles about Gov. Arnold playing chess.
You must be misinformed to assert that he cannot.

That comment was most likely a joke -- the boy is only four years old. And
who do you think taught that boy everything he knows?

He acted as if he played with Kasparov, but that was a publicity stunt:

Nonsense. The photo clearly proves that Garry was given odds of the first
move, plus the Governator has taken the initiative with the Black pieces, while
maintaining material equality. The truth is, Aenold was being "fed" moves by
some unknown player in Japan, who calls himself "Robert D. James." The game
ended in a draw when the Governator's earpiece (receiver) malfunctioned and he
botched a simple won ending of K & p vs. K.

Plus, it's the other way around, Barbarians are "girly-men" wielding giant
swords ala Conan.

No, barbarians are those who speak an unfamiliar language (which sounds to
the listener like "bar-bar-bar" or in modern English, "blah-blah-blah.")

The girley-men cannot even *lift* the sword (or log, or axe) weilded
skillfully by Conan the Barbarian, for they have no muscles to speak of. At
one time, Swarzenneger had accummulated so much muscle, the Feds threatened to
intervene to break up his monopoly....
