Default Interim USCF HQ space not owned by city

According to the Crossville Chronicle, the space that the USCF allegedly will
be using as interim office space [until its own building is constructed, God
knows when] - First Baptist Church - is not owned by the city of Crossville
but by the county. Cumberland County purchased the old church building on First
Street in the spring of 2002 with plans to turn that facility into a county
archives/genealogy center and museum. Apparently that project has not
materialized. Others have expressed interest in using the building, but,
because of the prohibitive costs of renovation, no one has stepped forth with a
definite plan. There are reports that there are problems with the building,
e.g. it is not up to today's fire code and there is no elevator to comply with
the Americans with Disabilties Act.
It is hoped that the fire code has been brought up to date and the USCF office
is on the first floor.

I thought the interim site was to be a vacant factory.

By the way, if Crossville can't deliver the factory does that ruin their end of
the contract?

Still is. They use to manufacture souls there.

Naaa. That's done off-site in bedrooms and back seats. Think
packaging and shipping.

No. There's a clause in there that says only XXVille can void the contract
for any reason or no reason. USCF may not void the contract for any reason
whatsoever, including nuclear holocaust. The attorney who negotiated that
deal for us is currently buying and selling 26-cent pencils on the Isle of
Man.
