Default USCF bylaws need updating on website

When USCF delegates at the 2004 annual meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
voted to change the bylaws to expand the Audit Committee to four members
[DM04-12, NDM 04-24], it was incumbent upon someone at the New Windsor office
to update the corresponding bylaw (Article VII, Section 3, A1) on the
federation's website. Right now, that bylaw on the website reads, in part: "The
Audit committee shall consist of 3 persons..."

What effect would this change have on operations and why was it
changed?

No effect on operations. 4 individuals were named by the Delegates
to the audit committee, so the Bylaws had to be altered, since they
called for an audit committee of 3.

The Delegates have a long history of having the Bylaws specify the exact
number of individuals to be named several Delegate-named committees
(Ethics, LMA and now Audit) and then electing a different number of
individuals and having to amend the Bylaws to match the political reality.
(Bylaws, which is also a Delegate-named committee, does not have any
Bylaws restrictions on the number of members on it.)

I don't know who's working on the annual update to the Bylaws. In
the last several years this has been a joint task between Myron
Lieberman (on behalf of the Bylaws Committee) and Barb Vandermark.
I haven't heard much from Myron recently and Barb is still getting
settled after moving from MY to FL.
