Default Goichberg violated Delegate Motion in setting dates for 2006 US Open

The 2006 US Open, set up by Bill Goichberg when he was USCF Executive
Director, reportedly in a hotel with which he does business, will take
place on August 5-`13, 2006. The Delegates meeting, which occurs the
second weekend of the US Open, will thus take place on August 12 and
13, 2006, which is the second full weekend in August, 2006.
However, in the 2004 Delegates Call, Delegates' Action of Continuing
Interest #30 states
"The Delegates' meeting will be held no later than the first full
weekend of August."
This mtion was passed to accomodate teachers whose school year is now
starting in mid August in some cases. Having the Delegates meeting the
second weekend clearly violates this Delegate mandate. Incidentally,
the 2007 US Open in New Jersey will end on the first full weekend in
August as required by the Delegates. Dr. Leroy Dubeck

Sounds like another USCF tempest in a teacup. No one will do
anything about it because Bill gets his way.

Leroy Dubeck latches onto any argument he can think of. He sounds like a
jilted lover.

Maybe the meeting will remain on the second weekend and maybe not.
When it was pointed out that the final round in Phoenix was scheduled
at the usual time of the delegates meeting [in violation of a previous
delegates motion] it was changed. Do you know for certain that the
2006 delegates meeting will not be moved to the first weekend of the
2006 US Open? How ever unlikely that may be.

Please note that I am not saying you are not correct, just that you may
not be 100% correct, but only 99.999999% correct.
