Naked women paintball targets

'Hunting for Bambi' appeals to 'wimps,' creator admits

It's a twisted form of adult entertainment that pushes the
objectification of women to a whole new level.

Naked women, wearing no more than their tennis shoes, race across a
stretch of the Nevada desert, trying to dodge paintball bullets hurled at
them at hair-raising speeds.

Sounds like some sort of x-rated video game or late-night television
show, a cross between Duck Hunt and the raunchy series Girls Gone Wild.

Wrong. It's called Hunting For Bambi and men from around the world are
forking out between $5,000 and $10,000 for a chance to dress in camouflage,
grab a rifle, take aim and pull the trigger at naked women or "Bambis,"
acting as moving targets.

In a recent TV interview in Las Vegas, the man behind the game, Michael
Burdick, explained that the game begins with the women stripping down to
their tennis shoes and then running around the course to collect four flags,
all the while being shot at by men with paintball guns.

He said the majority of men who sign up for the raunchy round of hunting
are submissive, quiet types.

"For the individual who's used to saying 'I can't go out with the boys
tonight' or the wimp of America, it's a chance for him to come out and vent
his aggression and really take charge and have some fun," he told KLAS-TV.

He said safety is a concern; even so, the women are not permitted to wear
any protective gear -- no helmet, no face mask, nothing.

He said hunters are warned not to shoot women in the chest area, but says
sometimes rules are broken.

"The main goal is to be true to nature as possible. I don't go deer
hunting and see a deer with a football helmet on, so I don't want to see one
on my girl either," he said.

One man who has taken part in the hunt is George Evanthes, a native New
Yorker now living in Las Vegas, who has never been hunting.

"We got a hit," he told KLAS-TV after shooting and hitting one of the
women in the behind. "It was sexy. Let's put it that way."

"As you can see, this is not lethal, and it wasn't meant to hurt anybody.
Just good clean fun."

For the women brave enough to take part, there are high stakes involved,
not only for participating, but also for successfully evading the bullets.

If they can finish the game unscathed, they're rewarded with a $2,500
payoff. Those who get hit are paid $1,000.
