Default The Libertarian Alternative to Obama and Bush

The Libertarian Alternative to Obama and Bush

I heard it on CNN last night to it must be true. A respected
newscaster stated: “Most young people today are fiscally conservative
but socially liberal or, in other words, Libertarian”

Anybody who listened carefully to President Obama's State of the Union
Address must have realized that the President is a hopeless case. He
does not seem to have learned anything. For example, he congratulated
himself for embarking on new projects without raising taxes, leaving
out the bottom line that he has greatly increased the deficit. He
keeps talking about new jobs programs that will do nothing but drive
us deeper into insolvency.

In short, President Obama has learned nothing from the defeat last
week of the Democrats in Massachusetts. He is going to keep going, in
spite of calls telling him to stop.

The problem the American people today face is: What is the
alternative?

Nobody wants to go back to Bush or a Bush type. Bush was not entirely
bad. He had a few good things and a few bad things. But, in the end,
the bad things far outweighed the good things and Bush will be
remembered forever as a bad president.

The Republican Party itself is now discredited because they followed
lock-step behind Bush even when Bush was completely wrong.

How can the people of America get rid of Obama without going back to
Bush?

The answer is the Libertarian Party.

For example, the John Stossel Show on CNN Business News invited three
groups to attend the State of the Union Speech by President Obama and
comment on it. The Stossel Show invited equal numbers of Republicans,
Democrats and Libertarians. This may be the first time that the
Libertarians were given equal billing with the Republicans and the
Democrats.

Baloney!

Libertarianism appears to respect personal freedom, but goes too far in the
fiscal sphere where careful oversight and reasonable controls are absolutely
necessary. Libertarians, like the RepubliKKKan-KKKon$ervatives they so
resemble, would allow the corpserate white-collar criminals to run amok and
do whatever they please in their own greed-motivated interests.

LIBERTARIAN RULE WOULD END ALL RENT STABILIZATION AND CONTROLS.

Want more homeless people in the streets?
Want out-of-control corpserate crime?
Want the rich to get richer and the poor more poor?

Then you are a LIBERTARIAN!

I made a mistake in the above posting. John Stossel appears on Fox
Business News. Not on CNN Business news.

John Stossel is definitely Libertarian.

However, it was on CNN, not Fox, that the newscaster stated: “Most
young people today are fiscally conservative
but socially liberal or, in other words, Libertarian”.

I was one of the invited Libertarians in the audience on the Stossel
Show. Stossel read what I wrote on a card (without attributing it to
me). Unfortunately, only one of us got to say anything, and that one
mostly made a sarcastic remark. Small bits of the show have been
posted on youtube.com, but only showing what one of the Republicans
said and what one of the Democrats said.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck8EWV-SnOo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAwIGBfCXFY

So, the show turned out to be mostly a dud from the Libertarian point
of view.

Still I am not sorry I went. We were invited back to another Stossel
Show the following morning. I was the only Libertarian who went to the
morning show. It turned out to be on an entirely different topic. I
got a bit more air time, mainly because it was snowing that morning
and not many of the planned studio audience came. It will be shown on
FOX Business News at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM on Thursday, February 4 and
at 9:00 PM on Friday February 5. Fox Business News is on Channel 43 in
Manhattan and Channel 106 in the Bronx.

John Stossel is definitely a Libertarian resource that we should use
in any way that we can.

BTW, that's Trotskyist, unless you're looking for a fight. :-)
