Default Philadelphia Sweep Nets Nine In Bookie Bust

Tough day to be a bookie in Philadelphia, that's for sure.

Wonder if they ever read USENET.

It's on the local news stations.

We are concerned that our favorite bookie might have been caught.

The Mastronardo brothers are local Philadelphia banks for bookies in
the Northeast corridor. The older one is married to former Mayor and
Police Comissioner Frank Rizzo's daughter. The younger one once got a
chance to try out for the Philadelphia Eagles under Dick Vermeil. The
owner then, Leonard Tose, was a big gambler who had to sell the Eagles
to pay gambling losses to the then Playboy Casino in Atlantic City.

I couldn't timely find it on Web sites for KYW or WCAU.
They did cover the bust of the two brothers already on probation for
bookmaking.
