Default Will the name of Sam Sloan be allowed to appear in Chess Lifemagazine again?

Under the recently departed ED, there was an unpublished rule that the

Regular columnists such as Larry Evans, Pal Benko, Jerry Hanken and

name deleted under orders from the ED.

Jerry Hanken even called the Chess Life editor on the phone and

Of course, Sloan's name had to appear when he was running as a

candidate. However, other than that, Sloan's name has never appeared

in a chess news article during the entire term of the recently

departed ED.

There is one exception: The name of Sam Sloan did appear as a wrong

answer to a quiz by Grandmaster Andy Soltis. The quiz was about who

won the unrated prize at the 1964 US Junior Championship. (For the

surprising correct answer to this question, look up the article.)

The question is: Now that that ED is gone and we have a new ED, will

the ban on Sloan's name be continued?

Why would Sam Sloan be of any interest to the members?
