Default Should the USCF members GET A LAWYER?

If what is being written about here is true, and even if the USCF's story of
mismanagement is to be believed, it would appear that a class-action lawsuit
is not beyond the realm of possibility.

ANY USCF member ruled to have standing can initiate the process.

Gordon Roy Parker suggests, of all things, a LAWSUIT against the already
dead-broke USCF..........why am I not surprised?

Guess he's not making out like he thought he would in the hundreds of OTHER
frivilous lawsuits he's been filing.

I used to be a USCF member. I was horrified by what I read.

Whether or not it was incompetence or anything worse, a case can be made for
changing the governance of USCF, and a class-action is something worth
considering.

I doubt there would be grounds for certifying a class action. Members are not
promised anything other than the services associated with their memberships.
They're still getting those services.

Life Members were not promised that the funds they paid in would be
sequestered and used exclusively for their benefit.

Incompetence or poor management is not grounds for a class action suit.

Members should elect better leaders and expect them to hire better managers.

The ballots for the upcoming election should be in the mail within the
next two weeks. There are two one-year terms on the USCF Executive Board
up for election and 125 Delegate seats.

The world is run by those who show up to vote.

You forget, Mike, that the USCF does not hire managers. Their manager
works for free. That's right, and what a deal it is. Look at all he's
doing for us, for free, right now...the magazine is a mess, a
financial scandal is a-brewing--I"m sure glad we're saving those
dollars that might go to someone competent and answerable to the
Board.

Oh well, at least Son of Chessdon is coming out soon. Can't wait for
the Abbott and Costello version.

I wouldn't consider that to be such a slam dunk.

Yeah, blame the membership.

Well, with all due respect to your statements here, I know a number of
class-action lawyers who could give a much more detailed analysis.
